There is a closeness and intimacy that can develop while on the road. Either you go with the flow and appreciate it or it will drive you crazy. Paco was taking full advantage of Kayla's fluffy Aussie skirt when he nestled in for a nap.
This website began as something for friends and family who wanted to see photos of our used Roadtrek that we bought earlier this year. It's a 2007 210 Popular Roadtrek. Now, a few months later, it is morphing into something new. I added a blog today. Who know what I will write, but I want to chronicle some events and trips. I'd like to be able to look back and reminisce and share with others if it's of interest to them.
I'll share some photos and my impressions of traveling with my husband and our two small dogs in a unit just under 22 feet long. The dogs are 22 and 11 lbs. Paco, the little one, is the boss and actually drags the larger herding dog, Kayla, around by her collar! Kayla does not seem to mind which is amazing for a herding dog. Paco is only a year old so she's gotten used to his games gradually as he grew. Older dogs can have such patience with a puppy and it hasn't changed during the year, but we will see what happend in time. Kayla does let him know when she's had enough and he let's her chill when needed. They have lots of play time together each day and are great companions and friends.
So far we have taken a week long trip and spent 4 days dry camping. Once we replaced the faulty batteries we didn't have any problem with dry camping (camping without water, electricity or sewer hookup). Before the replacement we kept loosing power and didn't know what the problem was. We also changed over enough lights to LCD lights so now we use much less electricty and they are much cooler as well. This fall we have 10 days planned going to the Salton Sea and Joshua Tree and then next year we are planning on going to Florida for 52 days. That will be a test for us on many levels. 52 days is a long time. We bought a tent that has screens on 4 sides to be able to be outside to sleep or whatever and be away from the bugs. We also have room to store an umbrella as well as a cool beach sun shelter from Costco. Roadtrek also has an awning which helps create shady area near door.
